Irans Iron Ore Production to Hit 42 mt by 2015

With the aim of developing mines and utilizing iron ore projects, the rate of concentrate production will reach to42 million tons by the end of the fifth socio-economic development plan of Iran (2010-2015).
According to a report released by IMIDRO's PR based on the fifth development plan the predicted iron ore production by Sangan in current Iranian year (to end in March) will be equal to 25 million and 900 thousand tons, while the rate will be equivalent to 28 million and 400 thousand tons in 2011.
The rate of production is predicted to be 38 million tons in 2012, while the figure will be 40 million and 200 thousand tons in 2013 and in the final year of the plan it will be equivalent to 42 million tons.
Based on the report, the projects defined by IMIDRO as of 2015 includes equipping Jalalabad iron ore mine, with the production objective of 3 million tons concentrate, the plan of creating and developing capacities of Chadormalu (the fifth line with the aim of producing 1.7 million tons of iron ore concentrate), the plan of creating concentrate production capacities in Mishdovan and Chahgaz mines up to 2.6 million tons concentrate, the plan of mining operation in Golegohar 3 mine ,with the aim of producing 10 million tons of iron ore concentrate, the plan of developing Sangan 2 complex , with production of 2.6 million tons of concentrate and pellet per annum, and increasing the capacity and improving the quality of iron ore concentrate in Choghart as of 800 thousant tons per year.
