Atlas Mining makes new copper concentrate shipment
Atlas Consolidated Mining and Development Corporation reported the successful completion of its 10th shipment of copper concentrates for this year worth USD 9.3 million through its subsidiary Carmen Copper Corporation.
The shipped concentrates which were produced from the Carmen copper mine in Toledo City, Cebu had a total volume of 5,701.99 WMT and contained 28.37% copper, 2.81 grams gold per DMT and 22.84 grams silver per DMT based on preliminary assays.
The firm disclosed to the Philippine Stock Exchange that the shipment, which constitutes CCC's 23rd since December 2008 is consigned to Jinlong Copper Company Limited of Anhui, PRO China. With the commissioning of its newly acquired six units of 100 tonne Komatsu dump trucks and an additional hydraulic excavator with a capacity of 15 cubic meters, CCC is poised to increase its production rate to over 40,000 tonnes per day.
Atlas had reported the arrival at the Toledo mine site of new equipment that will allow it to boost excavation rate by 15%. The firm disclosed the arrival of 6 newly purchased Komatsu 100 tonne trucks and an additional 15 cubic meter Komatsu PC3000 hydraulic excavator to complement the existing fleet of open pit mining equipment.
These are currently being assembled and are expected to be in operation within the next month. The added fleet will increase the rate of excavation of materials from the current 105,000 tonnes per day to 122,000 tonnes per day
