Reuters reported that Aurubis expected to lose the equivalent of one day's copper output after an accident at its main plant in Hamburg.
Aurubis said in a statement that about 1,300 tonnes of copper output would be lost. The Hamburg plant produces about 380,000 tonnes of copper annually and processes about 1 million tonnes of copper concentrate per year.
The company said earlier that it had stopped copper concentrate smelting at the Hamburg plant after an accident in a smelter last week.
